Travel for You Adventures
Alaska Adventure: A Journey to Remember

Earlier this month, we set off with our good friends Bill and Teresa for an unforgettable adventure in Alaska. We met in Seattle, then flew to Fairbanks to begin our journey.

That very night, we joined a late-night excursion to a cozy yurt where the Northern Lights danced across the sky, an awe-inspiring way to start the trip. From there, we traveled to Denali National Park and were among the lucky few (fewer than 30% of visitors) who actually get to see Mt. McKinley unobstructed by clouds.

Our journey continued by train across Alaska, ending in Whittier where we boarded the Coral Princess. A relaxing day at sea gave us time to enjoy onboard activities and fine dining at The Crown Grill. The highlight came as we cruised through Glacier Bay National Park, marveling at the towering beauty of the Marjorie Glacier.

Each port brought something special: in Skagway, we rode the scenic train to the summit and soaked in gold rush history before enjoying lunch at a local brewery. In Juneau, we explored the Mendenhall Glacier, Nugget Falls, and the whimsical “upside-down trees” at Glacier Gardens.

Rough seas meant we couldn’t stop in Ketchikan, but that gave us one more day to savor life aboard the ship. Finally, we wrapped up our adventure in Vancouver before heading home, our hearts (and photo albums) full of memories.

Alaska gave us raw beauty, adventure, and time well-spent with dear friends, truly a trip of a lifetime.

Discovering Scotland: A Journey Through Mist and Majesty

Discovering Scotland: A Journey Through Mist and Majesty

Discovering Scotland: A Journey Through Mist and Majesty

Scotland isn’t just a destination, it’s a mood. A land where ancient castles perch on windswept cliffs, lochs shimmer beneath brooding skies, and every cobbled street whispers stories of clans, poets, and rebels.

Start in Edinburgh, where the medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town blend seamlessly. Climb Arthur’s Seat for panoramic views, then descend into the literary haunts of Robert Louis Stevenson and Sir Walter Scott. Head north to the Highlands, where the landscape turns cinematic; think Glencoe’s dramatic valleys and the mirror-like stillness of Loch Ness.

For coastal charm, the Isle of Skye delivers jagged cliffs, fairy pools, and otherworldly sunsets. And don’t skip the whisky trail: distilleries from Islay to Speyside offer peaty drams and warm welcomes.

Serve with Honor, Travel with Ease

“Serve with Honor, Travel with Ease”: TSA’s New Perk for Military Families

Serve with Honor, Travel with Ease

The TSA has rolled out a heartfelt initiative to ease travel for America’s military community. Under the banner “Serve with Honor, Travel with Ease,” the program expands TSA PreCheck® benefits to honor the service and sacrifice of military families.

Gold Star families, those who’ve lost a loved one in military service, can now enroll in TSA PreCheck for free. Military spouses receive a $25 discount, and active service members gain expedited access at select airports near major installations. These perks mean shorter lines, less hassle, and a smoother journey for those who’ve given so much.

Mobile enrollment events near bases and dedicated screening lanes are also part of the rollout, making it easier than ever to access these benefits. It’s a small but meaningful way to say thank you, and to help military families travel with dignity and ease.

🚒 Smart Tips for Your Next Cruise

🚒 Smart Tips for Your Next Cruise

Thinking about setting sail? Cruises are one of the best ways to see the world while unpacking only once. Whether it’s your first voyage or your tenth, a few insider tips can make your trip smoother and more enjoyable.

1. Pack a Carry-On Bag

When you board, your checked luggage may not arrive at your cabin for several hours. Keep essentials like medications, travel documents, swimwear, and a change of clothes in a small carry-on so you can start enjoying the ship right away.

2. Plan Shore Excursions Early

Popular tours can sell out fast. Book excursions in advance or explore on your own if you want flexibility. Either way, planning ahead ensures you get the most out of each port.

3. Watch Out for Extra Costs

Cruises include a lot, but extras like specialty dining, drinks, Wi-Fi, and spa treatments can add up quickly. Set a budget (or ask me about money-saving packages that include these perks) so there are no surprises at the end of your trip.
