A review from clients returning from their 3rd visit to Secrets Maroma Beach!

Hi Denise!

Quick review--finally!  Emoji

After our third time a Secrets Maroma Beach--never disappointed at all!  Wonderful & friendly people work there & provide such a wonderful experience.

Check-in/out--smooth like always.

The renovated room decor is very, very nice.  We love the swim-up & enjoyed 30+ cotis who visited us almost every night between 5-6 pm.  Also enjoyed the "show" they put on one night on our walk back from a show when they were knocking coconuts down from a tree, while other cotis on the ground dragged them into the foliage to eat.  So many of them--all sizes & colors!
The food was excellent as usual!  We really liked the restaurants we visited.  Also like that they have more "theme" nights outside because the guys don't have to wear long pants--but that you also have the option of the nicer restaurants to get more dressed up.

The shows were pretty good.  Saw the rock show.  The other shows were good but sort of seemed to be "more of the same" with the ribbons, trapezes, robotics stuff--still enjoyed the talent they brought to the resort.  When we stayed at Secrets Akumal a couple of years ago, they had a hilarious couples game show which was the best show ever.  Had hoped they would have had something like that here this time.  A comedian or comedy show as an option would be something different & nice to have.

The entertainment staff does a good job of trying to include people in the activities going on, but aren't pushy at all.  We had Spanish lessons one morning.  I might have to go back for a refresher course.  Emoji

The pools are always clean.  Some times had a hard time finding a chair on our own, but if the pool concierge saw someone looking, they helped find them a spot.  The quieter infinity pool is our favorite, however, the foliage has grown taller since our last visit there (naturally), so you can't see the ocean from it any longer, which we missed.
The sargassum is out there, of course, but Secrets does THE BEST job cleaning it off the beach with their beach raking machine.  The picture I've included was the worst day & it was in the morning.  We didn't notice a smell really, but I think that's because they keep it cleaned up so well.  I think the smell is from the decay if it's left to lay--which they don't do.  Not many folks in the ocean like our first trip there, but it is what it is....nature!  I feel bad that it's affecting the resort business--especially for the servers--& all those working for tips.

Enjoyed a massage, which was the best one I've ever had!  We also used the hydrotherapy one day--very nice perk to have available.

We plan to visit Secrets Maroma Beach again sometime.  Secrets is a great brand & we highly recommend it!

I've included a few pictures.

Thanks again, Denise, for taking such good care of us & organizing our trip for us.  You do a wonderful job of keeping up informed about the flight info leading up to the trip, as well as what we should expect/do when we get to the Cancun airport concerning getting to the shuttle.  Know that we appreciate you providing that info!  Thank you!!!

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Chris & Joe

St. Lucia

ST. LUCIA

Recently very special clients spent their 30th Wedding Anniversary in St. Lucia.

They spend 6 nights at Sugar Bay and then 3 nights at Hotel Chocolate!

They had also celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary at these 2 resorts in 2013.

Thank you Bill and Diane for sharing your review and photos of these beautiful resorts.

SUGAR BAY, A VICEROY RESORT:

We loved our stay at Sugar Beach. Each morning we enjoyed an open air breakfast of fresh tropical fruits and other first class items. The there was no hurry. They had staff everywhere at the Resort. We never had to go searching for assistance. They assigned a private Butler to us to assist us with all our personal needs. Everyone was polite and friendly.

Our room was very special. It was one of 96 units, all of them on the hill side or on the beach. No multi-level room complex. They had part colonial charm, part understated luxury. It was a beautiful setting to unwind at.

The Resort sits in a UNESCO World Heritage site between two mountains (Pitons).

It has a Rainforest Spa consisting of thatched tree huts.

The beach sand is imported, so it has some of the most pristine white sand in the Caribbean. Everything is perfectly landscaped, giving it the feel and look of a lush tropical botanical gardens.

The food was top tier, but very pricy. Sometimes many times more than its value. This is really the main drawback. But you are paying for a one-of-a-kind location.

 Hotel Chocolat Boucan

This 14 unit Resort had an unspeakably beautiful location as well. It was higher upon the mountains and not on the beach, however, if you want to go to the beach while you are there, they have a shuttle and their own boat that they use to transport guests to the beach.

This Resort is on a working Cocoa Plantation. The British chocolatier, Hotel Chocolate owns and operates this unique Resort. It is very stylish and has a very cool vibe. It is small, so it is very peaceful and relaxing.

They have special tours that allow guests to learn and see how cocoa is grown and harvested and processed. We got to graft our own Cocoa tree. They mark and catalogs your tree so that if you visit again years latter you can see it producing Cocoa Pods! They also have another fascinating tour (for an extra cost) that allows you to make your own chocolate bar!

We loved this! We learned a lot. Their restaurant is and rooms are all open! This is a wonderful experience that brings in the sounds and sights up close while you are there. It is very picturesque with, I believe, one of the world's most spectacular small pools.

Hello Denise. All went well, thanks for asking.

I had a good experience but I have a feeling I might have liked a different tour. It was very exhausting traveling and then packing the next morning on many occasions. I think I would have liked to stay in some spots longer, or maybe go to some different locations in the country. But I know that with the two or you can't do all..  our guide to take us to some good spots. Every restaurant that he chose was great.

My guide was great. He would give us a brief low-down of the town and pretty much suggest what we could do. It was our choice what we wanted to do. I spent most of the days by myself walking around the cities, but I would meet up for group dinners. We had between 14 to 16 people in the group. This to her was actually a combination of two tours.

I really liked Croatia and Montenegro the best.  Albania was interesting and Greece was nice.. next time I'll probably want to see other islands of Greece.

The transportation accommodations were fine for the low-budget tour. However I wasn't really pleased with the hostels. Maybe it's just hostels in general, but I thought many of the ones we stayed at had some issues. By the end of the trip I was ready for a regular hotel room and a decent bed.. sometimes we'd have between four to six girls and one room.

I would use G Adventures again, but I probably wouldn't do this tour at my age.  How is definitely beat by the end of the trip from consistently walking around towns and then traveling... However the age variations worked out decently
